Great Week! Nov. 22, 2011

Hey everyone,

This last week was awesome!  We had a really good zone conference.  I found out that both Elder Taylor and I are staying for another transfer, which was pretty surprising.  I also got my license back!  We had to go to Baton Rouge on Friday to get our car inspected.  So on the way back we stopped through Krotz Springs where I had gotten the ticket and stopped at the police station.  I got my license back and I asked them if I had to take traffic school to keep the ticket off of my record.  When I sent the check in they said if you had a good driving record you could ask to see if the ticket could be kept off of your record.  Usually in most other states you have to go to traffic school.  But, apparently here you don't.  The lady told me that it wasn't going to be on my record.  That was such a huge relief!
Yesterday we went to see a media referral that we had gotten on Thursday.  The media referral was for a lady named Stacey.  It said that she wanted to know more about the mormon religion because she was thinking of joining the mormon church. So we went over to her house and had an awesome lesson with her and her two daughters!  She is so excited to read the Book of Mormon and to come to chruch.  She's definitely the most prepared person I've seen on the mission.  We committed her and her daughters to be baptized on Dec. 31.  They are all really excited to go to church and to be baptized.  It was an awesome miracle!  At church on Sunday we had two inactives come to church and two more should be coming this next Sunday!  Things are looking up and picking up in Opelousas.  Now only if we can move down to Carencro then the work will really start to progress.  I can't wait for Thanksgiving.  We're going over to Sister Mcdavid's parents house for dinner, who aren't members.  It should be really good.  I hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving!

Love,
Elder Cooper
