Hey Everyone,
This last week was pretty good. The weather was awesome. It got down into the 50's and 60's the last 3 days. I love it!!!! But, yeah, I went on an exchange with our zone leader's this last week. So I went down to Lafeyette for a couple of days. We had a really cool lesson down there. Elder Killpack and I were going to see a less active member. While we were walking up to the house the next door neighbors were standing outside. It was a couple of young college kids, they were both smoking. We stopped to talk to them and asked them if they had ever talked to the missionaries before. They said they hadn't but were interested in what Mormon's believed. So they let us in and we had a lesson with them about the Restoration. One of the kids, Alec, said he grew up Catholic but didn't believe in a lot of the things they taught and did. Throughout the lesson he was pretty quiet and his friend did most of the talking. At the end of the lesson we asked him to pray. We thought he hadn't been really listening or paying attention, but in his prayer he said, "thank you for the missionaries coming and talking to us. And they might not know it, but they answered a lot of questions that I've had for a long time and it means a lot to me." It was Awesome! I forget sometimes how much the message of the restoration impacts people and how much of an effect we have on people.
Back in Opelousas we were able to find 4 new people to teach and commit 2 of them for baptism. So things are looking up. Well not too much else happened. Elder Taylor cooked a whole turkey last night and so we have ridiculous amounts of turkey in our freezer. We should be able to survive off of that for a while. Well I hope you have a great week.
Love,
Elder Cooper
