We were able to talk with Ryan for about 40 minutes on Tuesday, Sept. 28th, as he awaited his flight from the Dallas Airport to Louisiana. He sounded great and was so excited to meet his Mission President and new companion. He loved his experiences at the MTC, saying that he had learned and grown so much. On Saturday we received a letter and picture from his mission president, President Woods. The opening paragraph from President Wood's letter is as follows:
We were pleased to meet your son, Ryan Scott Cooper, when he arrived at the airport in Baton Rouge. I had the pleasure to interview him, and it was a choice experience to feel his fine spirit and hear his testimony at our orientation meeting for incoming missionaries.
Ryan also wrote a short note expressing how great his mission president and wife are and how excited he was to get to meet his new companion the next day. He said he can tell he is going to love the people.
