Hi everyone,
This last week has been pretty awesome. We had two of the best lessons ever with Raymond and we had members there with us for those lessons. It was really good to get some members over there to meet him and fellowship him and his wife Tracy. One of the members, Sister Cook, has diabetes and Raymond has just gotten diabetes 2 months ago, so she was able to talk to him on how to control his diabetes. It was really good because what she told him to do started working for him so he has some trust in them now. Member fellowship with investigators makes the biggest difference in helping them want to come to church and to keep progressing. Tracy has also shown more interest and we've been able to teach both of them together, so I'm pretty excited about that.
This week we were able to so the Nealy's, Elson and Angelique, and were able to teach them a few times. They are back together and working on their marriage. Supposedly Angelique just went to her mom's house to spend the night and Elson had just jumped to conclusions and overreacted. So they just need to work on trusting each other because they don't trust each other at all right now. We're really glad though that they're back together and that were able to teach them again. They said that they're going to come to church next Sunday, so I'm pretty excited about that.
Yesterday after church we had a meeting at the stake center for all the missionaries in the New Orlean's region. A member of the Quorum of the 70 came and spake to us. His name is Elder Gay and it was an awesome meeting. President and Sister Woods were there, too, and spoke. It was one of the best meetings I ever been to and I really enjoyed it.
It's funny, before I left everyone kept telling me that it was going to rain a lot, but it's only rained one night I've been here so far. The last couple of days It's looked like it's about to storm but then it just dies down. I kind of almost want it to rain but at the same time it wouldn't be so good this week because my companion and I ran out of miles for our car, so we'll be biking this week. I am pretty excited, though, to ride my bike and get some use out of it since I paid 580 for it.
I love it here in New Orleans out in the east. The people here are just awesome. They're so nice and generous and have awesome food that they're so willing to share. I can't wait for this next week and hopefully Raymond will keep his committment for the 30th and be baptized. I love this gospel and how it can bring so much happiness to other people's lives. I hope everything is going well at home and I love you all.
