Belated Happy Easter April 9, 2012

Hey Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday!  It was great here in New Orleans.  I have grown to love this time of the year.  Especially to remember the Easter season and what Christ did for us.  At church there were 175 people there!  We had to go sit in the primary room and listen over the speaker system to sacrament meeting.  It was really good though and the spirit was still there.  The rest of the week was pretty good.  Still a little slow, but we were able to see a former investigator, Herman Davis,  with Bro. Johnson.  It was a really good lesson.  Brother Johnson is super knowledgeable in the scriptures, especially the Bible.  He showed Herman how Joseph Smith was a true Prophet and what makes a prophet true.  I can't remember all the scriptures he used, but it was really good.  Bro. Johnson is pretty crazy.  He joined the church about 15 years ago.  Before that he was the youngest baptist preacher in the U.S. and he was a former member of the Black Panthers.  He also was in the military for 30 years.  He has really cool stories and really crazy ones.  He has the Bible pretty much memorized.  Anyways he's definitely one of the most interesting people I've ever met.  He's awesome too because he will do anything for the missionaries.  Anyways other then that we were able to see quite a few less actives and a couple of new people which was good.
This weekend we did get fed pretty good too.  We did some service for the Grants and then she made us a big pot of Red Beans and rice.  It was really good and it was pretty difficult to ride our bikes after because we were so full.  Then last night all the missionaries were invited to the Roberts sisters for Easter Dinner.  It was ridiculously good.  There were about 8 other people there from the ward there too.  They had tons of food, so it was really good because I was able to gain some weight over this weekend!
Well not too much else happened.  I just hope that you all had a great Easter and that we will continue to remember what Christ has done for us throughout the rest of the year too.  I know that he loves us and that He lives.  I hope that we can continue to show our love to him and to serve those around us as well. I love you all and hope you have a great week.

Love,
Elder Cooper

Oh yeah thanks Mom and Dad for the Package as well.  I really enjoyed it.
