Hey Everyone,
I hope you all had an awesome week. Things here in New Orleans East are starting to pick up. We were able to start teaching a former investigator Herman Davis, which I just remembered I think I talked about him last week, Oh well. Anyways we taught him again this week and now I remember what his problems were last time. He thinks that we are saying that we gain salvation by going through Joseph Smith, and he says that he only will go through Christ. Which we explained to him is what we believe too, that it is only through Jesus Christ and his atonement that we will be saved. He thinks that we don't need prophets in our day and he says he will continue to keep searching for the truth. He did tell us though that he is going to keep studying the Book of Mormon and that if the Spirit tells him that what we are teaching is true then he will definitely be baptized. So we are going to definitely keep working with him and try to bring the spirit in as much as possible in the lessons. We also, received a lot of referrals these last two weeks. The Grants' referral is awesome and is really excited. Her name is Karen and she is looking for a church to join. She said that she has seen how happy the Grants are and that the church has helped them through a lot of things. Or I guess I should say the Gospel has helped them. We have a lesson set up tomorrow with her and we are really excited.
We also had a new Ward Mission leader called yesterday. He is awesome and is going to help us to get things moving and to get things done. I hope that I'm able to finish out here in the East. I know that it is just waiting to explode and that many great things are going to start happening here. It has been really hot this last week and it just made me think of how much I hated the weather last summer. But, the summer seems to be busier, too, teaching wise. I guess because people are less busy and more people are willing to let you in so you can get out of the heat. I love it out here and can't wait to see the progress that is going to start happening here. I hope that you are all doing well and that you all have a great week. Thank you all too for your support and Prayers.
Love,
Elder Cooper
