Hey Everyone.

Hope you all had a great week.  It sounds like everything is going well back home.  I did hear that Arizona had a lot of dead birds.  Everyone here we talk to has been freaking out about all the birds dying and it's getting a little old.  It probably isn't that big of a deal back home.  Anyways, this last week was a pretty busy one.  We had interviews on Thursday which was pretty exciting.  We drove down to the Baton Rouge stake center for it.  My companion and I were the last ones to be interviewed and it took forever.  While President Woods is interviewing, everyone else is being instructed by either Sister Woods or the Assistants.  So the instruction ended at 3, but President Woods still had about 10 missionaries to interview.  So Elder Waters and I were there from 9 in the morning till 6:30 at night.  It was bad because we didn't get back to New Roads until about 7:30 so we only had an hour and a half to go proselyte.  But interviews were good and there was a lot of good instruction.  We also had Stake Conference this week.  It was a really good meeting because it was a broadcast from Salt Lake City.  Elder L. Tom Perry talked and so did President Monson.  It was really good and President Monson gave a really good talk on how we need to rescue those that have gone astray and help them get back to the Gospel because we love them.  It was really good but unfortunately we didn't have any investigators there.  John and Kate were supposed to come but their horse got a nail in it's foot and it was infected really bad.  They had to give it shots and antibiotics every 2 hours so they couldn't leave to come to the meeting.  It was a real bummer but we went and saw them later that night and had a good lesson with them.
I learned another wierd southern tradition this last week.  It's a good tradition though because you get cake out of it.  So the tradition is that you're supposed to buy what's called a king cake once a week up until Mardi Gras.  You're supposed to have a party to once a week to eat the king cake.  In the king cake they put a little plastic baby, and whoever gets the piece with the baby has to buy the king cake for the next week.  It's some wierd Catholic Tradition apparently but King Cake is really good, so its worth it.
Anyways this week is going to be pretty crazy because we have mission tour on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Elder Robbins from the seventy is touring our mission and he is going to talk to us on those two days.  So we have to drive down to Baton Rouge both those days and it's going to use a lot of our miles.  So we'll probably end up on our bikes for the last couple of weeks of the month.  Oh well, it will be good exercise.  I'm pretty excited for this week missionary work wise because we have 4 people already committed to come to church and we are going to be committing 4 more for baptism.  It should be a good and eventful week.
Well I hope you all have a great week and are able to enjoy some good weather.  It's been pretty cold these last couple of days but I still like it way more than the heat. Anyways have a great week.

Love, Elder Cooper
