January 24, 2011 A Great Week

Hey Everyone,

Hope you all had a great week. This last one was great for me.  There were a lot of good things that happened this week and I was able to have good health too.  This last week we were able to have the ward mission leader, Bro Pratt, and his wife come out with us to see a couple investigators.  Randy was one of the investigators we went to go see.  He has been progressing really well and could have definitely been baptized this last week, but we want to have his wife baptized with him.  His wife Bridget has never sat in on the lessons and has always left the room when we would start a lesson.  On Friday though with the Pratts she stayed there for the lesson and was involved in it. I think having sister Pratt there helped her feel more comfortable and we were able to have a great lesson with them about how Families can be together for eternity.  They both loved it and we were able to commit them to be baptized on February 26th.  They committed to that date and said that getting baptized was something they really wanted to do.  We were able to see a great miracle that night with Bridget.  She went from not wanting to hear anything about the church to committing to be baptized.  It was awesome and you could feel the spirit so strong in that lesson.  The only problem is that they committed to come to church but then didn't show up.  It was pretty disappointing but it happens and we'll just have to keep working with them to get them to church.
The last few weeks has been pretty chilly.  It's been in the mid to low 50's the last few weeks.  The weather here is crazy.  It will be 55 one day and the next day it's 75, it's a little annoying.  I love the colder weather though and hope it stays cold for a while becuase I'm not looking forward to the hot summer down here.
This last week I got to work in a Dry Cleaners place for a little while.  The Gepharts own it and they needed help this last week.  Two of there workers just went down to Mexico for a few months and didn't tell them they were and another worker fell down some stairs and broke her knee.  So they were pretty short handed so we went and helped them for a while.  It was pretty fun and I had always wondered how a Dry Cleaning place works.  It was fun to do some manual labor for a change too.
Well I don't have any more time today. I hope you all have a great week.

Love,
Elder Cooper
