Hey Everyone,
This last week was pretty good. Last night I found out some exciting news, too. We went to a devotional at our church building and President Woods spoke and the stake President, President Conlin, spoke. Afterwards I was talking to President Woods. He asked me how everything was going and how our investigators were doing. While talking to him I luckily remembered to ask him about Randy and Bridgette. He told me that they did get baptized! It was awesome to hear that, and I'm so excited for them. It was good to know that someone I've taught has been baptized. It's really cool, too, to hear about old investigators getting baptized. So yeah that made the whole week awesome. Other than that our week was pretty normal. There were definitely a lot of miracles that happened. We were able to recommitt Adrian Ordegen for baptism on April 9th. He's really excited to be baptized and he wants us to teach his mom and to have his wife and kids taught, too. His wife and kids are in Virginia right now because Adrian moved down from Virginia to help his mom take care of his dad who had a stroke. His wife and kids are staying in Virginia until his daughter finishes school and then they're going to move down here to Louisiana. It was awesome how concerned he was for his family and the need for them to be baptized, too. We also were able to go in and teach this guy named Robert. We've been trying to have a lesson with him for the last 4 weeks, but he was either busy or wasn't there. So it was a miracle that we finally got in there. He's an interesting guy. He's gone through a lot in his life to where it's made him question if there is a God. But he is really open to what we have to say and he is searching for the truth and for some comfort in his life, which is what the gospel will bring him.
At church we had 8 people committed to come and only one showed up. It was disappointing but, it happens. Everything else is going pretty well. It's been pretty hot and humid the last few days and the people down here keep saying that it's nice outside right now. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like in June, July, and August! Oh well, I know I'll still love it here in Louisiana. I can't wait for General Conference, too. It's going to be great and I know that it will help some of our investigators a lot. I hope you all have a great week!
Love,
Elder Cooper
